Common questions

Can't find your answer? Call or text (647) 468-9696.

Do you handle emergency calls?

Yes. Burst pipes, drain and sewer backups, no hot water and leaking shut-off valves are all emergency work we take on, for homes and businesses. Call or text (647) 468-9696 and tell us what's going on and where you are.

Which areas do you cover?

We're based in Markham and work across the GTA, including Toronto, Unionville, Richmond Hill, Thornhill, Stouffville, Vaughan, Scarborough, North York, Durham, Oshawa, Pickering, Whitby, Newmarket, Mississauga and Brampton. If your town isn't listed, call and ask.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Braxus is a fully licensed and fully insured plumbing company, with over 10 years in the trade.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. We handle emergency repairs, tenant fit-outs and renovations, and scheduled maintenance for offices, retail stores, restaurants and other food-service properties.

Will I know the plan and price before work starts?

Yes. We diagnose the problem or scope the project first, then walk you through the plan and quote before any work begins.

What is a pressure reducing valve, and why does it need servicing?

A pressure reducing valve (PRV) lowers the water pressure coming in from the city main to a safe level for your plumbing. As it wears, pressure can creep up and strain pipes, fixtures, water heaters and appliances. Banging pipes, running toilets and dripping taps can be signs it needs a check.

Where is my main water shut-off valve?

In most GTA homes it's in the basement or utility room, on the wall where the water line comes in, close to the water meter. Turning it clockwise shuts off water to the whole house. If you can't find it or it won't turn, call us.
